This is alarming me since most AP posts (in my area at least) are unpaid!Geishawife wrote: YES! Some courses make it very clear you HAVE to have experience from paid employment. You are very, very unlikely to get on to the doctorate with only voluntary experience.

I'm looking for work (I've just graduated with a first). I have some experience--almost 3 years as a youth worker for adults with learning disabilities, and one year as part of my degree working in CAMHS. I'm finding it really hard to get work though. Just realised... I also should have mentioned that I was very lucky to have a placement year as part of my degree, where I shadowed a clinical psychologist in CAMHS. Not sure how to edit my previous post, the option doesn't seem to be there
