Re: NHS support worker vs Private part time AP?

Firstly... congratulations on getting an interview!! That's a huge achievement and something to keep reminding yourself about when things can be tough :) My advice... go to the AP interview (if you're happy to make the journey) and see what happens from there. You could ask the company about whether...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1) I feel like yesterday I learnt a lot about myself- both in and out of work 2) I had my usual session with a very anxious child and parent- I find that I pick up their anxieties so easily, but feel that I managed this quite well yesterday (although I did feel slightly anxious about the child when ...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1) With this research paper all I keep thinking in my head is 'just keep swimming, just keep swimming'... it's something I've spent a lot of my own time on and have constantly bought back to supervision to try and get published. Slowly I'm starting to see the end in sight. 2) Really starting to noti...

Re: Low/Mid/High 2:1

Hi Esuma, With my application last year I had to send a few extra bits off to Birmingham about my 2:1 classification. They required a minimum of 65, and similar to you my transcript didn't give my overall score. They emailed me once they'd received my application and I had to either send additional ...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1) My big worry thought at the minute is my academic reference for the next batch of Dclinpsy apps... one of my references isn't around this year so I need to find somebody else. Maybe someone from the foundation course I'm soon starting (not sure they will have known me well enough by then)... any...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1) You know you've been busy at work when you haven't been on the Clinpsy forum for a few weeks! I feel like I have so much to catch up and things to be nosey about 2) Yes I am sat here in work at 6.28, after getting in at 8.10 this morning... I've been so much better in this role than my last role ...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1) that's 2 nights on the trot now I've had a rubbish sleep and spent most of my nights/dreams thinking about work... this isn't a good sign 2) I'm really trying to keep up the self care, saw friends yesterday for some yummy food which was nice but felt that I wasn't overly chatty 3) such bad timing...

Re: Band 5 AP interview

The BPS Guidelines for AP's also offer some guidelines of the difference between band 4 and band 5 roles, which links into what has already been said by others in this post.

Re: Help with banding

I'm not 100% sure what to suggest- but maybe looking at the BPS Guidance for Assistant Psychologists and comparing with your job responsibilities and showing how you match the Band 6 role rather than Band 5 AP?

1) Astra - Yorkshire weather has gone mad! I walked the dog this morning in snow.... yes snow.... he loved it, I didn't. 2) I've had a really reflective couple of weeks after my recent doctorate events (a previous post will shed some light), I've thought really hard about my options, what my goals a...

Re: Counselling and Psychotherapy- BACP/UKCP Plan B

Hi both, Thank you for sharing your experiences! It's interesting to see that you're both continuing with DClinPsy after completing this training. It's something that hadn't really crossed my mind and I hadn't really thought of (for some reason). Workingmama- what kind of roles were you working in w...
