Re: Meeting criteria for AP posts?

Hi JC, It looks like you've already had a lot of volunteering experience, maybe it would be worth looking at volunteering roles that include working with children if this is particular experience you're worried about? Also, whilst the person spec may include (for example) 'completing psychometric as...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1) So the final day of Leicester DClinPsy interviews is today... meaning my number 4 reserve list place hasn't come to flavour. I'm actually feeling pretty positive about this, it's progress to last year! 2) So now I can focus on my first ever DClinPsy interview for the end of April. I'm making the ...

Re: Turned down interviews

I rang and spoke to the admin team and they emailed me a copy of the letter (in draft form) stating the same information those who get invited to interview receive. Maybe worth doing that :)

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2016

I can now say... Birmingham Sheffield Leicester (4th) Trent!!! So today has been a whirlwind of emotions and basically planning my plan b route after hearing from Bham, then having the shock from Trent!! After multiple attempts at applying, I've finally got somewhere other than no interview ☺️

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2016

Respect to everyone who has posted their reds. It's easy to post success, but takes far more to open up about rejection, and most won't. However, please do as there is comfort in numbers and the more people that do post red shows the brutal reality of the process. If people only post interviews and...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2016

So far... Sheffield Leicester Birmingham Trent (test on Mon) Let's see how Leics reserve list moves. Conscious that it's during the first week though! You'd be surprised by how much 1st week interviews can move sometimes! :) I don't know about Leicester, but I know one of the early ones moved 13 la...

Re: Official guidelines for supervision of Assistant Psychs

Interesting what it says about the difference of band 4 and band 5 AP's- I wonder how receptive private companies will be to this.

Re: Anyone else feel stupid after all these shortlisting tes

I know for Leicester they're taking the top 42 scores (for each of the three tests combined) to interview, and not considering the application forms.

Re: Anyone else feel stupid after all these shortlisting tes

Hi Strelitzia, I can completely understand where you're coming from! I've been chatting with a couple of colleagues today about the pre-selection process and how it has made me feel. You've attended higher education, gained A-levels/GCSE's, yet you're still feeling like you need to prove to others t...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1) I'm finding this years application season harder than I expected. I think I'm doing quite well at handling the emotions involved, however deep down I think the realisation that I told myself that this may be my last year is starting to hit home... and I may need a plan B route. 2) I've had a love...

Re: Leicester Selection Test 2016

I ended up having to do mine yesterday without the practice test, and found them quite hard! Not sure if I'll be expecting much from Leicester this year.

On the walls in the waiting room they had that test results would be on the 4th March- so I'm assuming then!

Good luck everybody :)

How confusing! I've emailed them now to see if they can get it working.
