Re: Leicester Selection Test 2016

I'm still struggling to get on the practice test! I've tried at 3 different times over the weekend and no luck. Is anybody getting on at all? I don't feel it's fair if some people are and others aren't.

Re: Reflections on 4th application and not on training

This thread is so helpful for us multi-timers. I'm on my 4th year of applying and tried a different route to the previous years. I chose 3 university's with pre-selection tests (Bham, Leics and Trent), alongside my nearest university of Sheffield. I'm currently in the middle of the 3 tests, and I'm ...

Re: Leicester Selection Test 2016

The very first email says 22nd, the second ones (with the test links) says 24th, how confusing! I'll go with the first date just incase!

Re: Things you've learned at work today

Today I feel that I've really started to embrace and recognise how much I do actually like doing research! I've mentioned it on other forums, and have taken part in quite a few projects here and there in roles, but today I have spent most of my time tidying up a potential paper (fingers crossed!). I...

Re: Completing PhD's

Thanks for sharing your experience too Marcus! The reason I was contemplating a PhD was that I've started to notice I have a keen interest in research (which my supervisor says isn't always common in AP's) and that a project had come up at a local university that I am really interested in. I think a...

Re: Trent written test 2016

As Lakeland says, there was one last year and it's stated on the leeds clearing house that there was always going to be one again this year.

They only let you know what's on the leeds clearing house, and no further information about what is involved.

Re: Has anyone heard anything from Clearing House yet?

Wow that is quick for Trent! Did you get it by email or letter? Unfortunately I'm not able to say about actual test itself (it goes against clinpsy rules) other than what they include on the leeds clearing house: ''The pre-selection written screening exercise is a computer-based task that aims to as...

Re: Has anyone heard anything from Clearing House yet?

It may also be worth highlighting that a number of courses have written and pre-selection tests, and with lots of these you never really know what test it will be until you turn up on the day! So maybe take it as a positive that you have some information into what it is. I turned up to Trent's last ...

Re: Leicester Selection Test 2016

From the leeds clearing house, they ambiguously state 'the majority' will be invited who meet the minimum criteria.

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1) I've decided to try and allocate every of Thursday to research only, with today being my first trial of this... So far I haven't even opened the documents and I've spent my time sorting other stuff out (typical) 2) With this plan I'm going to try and work from home on every other Thursday, with t...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1) breath, breath, breath 2) when you spend HOURS updating and sorting out a database (a lot of it in your own time for extra development opportunities) AND ITS NO LONGER THERE    3) breath, breath, breath 4) is it wrong that I don't want the other AP's to touch the database now......
