Re: Coventry & Warwick 2014

Hi everyone, I'm very excited to say that I will be joining you all in September :D I live in Oxfordshire at the moment and can't relocate, so I'm hoping the m40 will be kind to me over the next 3 years! Congrats! The M40 doesn't sound fun though! Congrats to you too Suze. You didn't interview on t...

Re: Trainee pwp advice

Hi aspiringpsych, I would definitely recommend becoming a PWP en route to becoming a trainee clinical psychologist. I am currently a PWP and have secured a place on a clin psy course this year. While becoming a PWP for some may be a career in itself, for many it eventually leads on to other things s...

Re: Liking the new edition of Aspire

I also wanted to congratulate and thank all of the contributors to the current issue. I liked the variety of the topics and found them all interesting and engaging, which can be rare for publications like this. I found the Vignette section particularly interesting and some of the questions and debat...

Re: How many times did you apply?

I have also just got on after my first attempt and first interview. Like AnonymousMouse above me I also waited until I felt ready to apply. I could have applied for the last few years and probably would not have gotten very far. This year was the first year I thought I may have a shot.

Re: Scottish independence

Hedley, be careful your comment is not misconstrued as sexiest and gets its own topic which eventually leads to you being banned for life. But nothing like that would ever happen here so don't worry. But back to the topic in hand. I think Scotland would be much stronger as part of the UK so should r...

Re: PWPs on the cheap?

It's interesting how in some IAPT services it's only the band 7s who do triage assessments and in others it's band 4s. I also agree with the point SheRa made. It's quite difficult for services to recruit qualified band 5 PWP staff because of the high attrition rate for PWPs. So if you are a qualifie...
