Re: PWP training
Hey Qwerty,
The PWP posts for London are usually advertised on the NHS jobs site around May/June time. They use the same form as usual, but you may have to write certain things in the personal statement section such as your preferences of where you would like to train.
Good luck!

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .
Whoa. It feels like this topic has escalated quite a bit from what appeared to me to be an “innocent” comment, with no mal intent. It has raised some interesting discussion though around not only the use of language, but how others may use their own views and experiences to interpret it in a differe...

Re: Aspiring CBT Therapist as opposed to aspiring Clin Psych
Hello again :D So miraculously after writing this post: Three jobs have come up which I have applied for: 2x Trainee pwp for IAPT and 1x assistant psychologist. I also have an interview for an STR post in the community with adults with personality disorders on Friday. Which of these posts do you th...

Re: Reserve List for Interviews 2014
Has anyone heard anything from Hertfordshire? They haven't given me any indication of how big the reserve list is or where abouts I am on it. I don't know whether to dare hope! If you email the administrator she'll tell you where you are. I'm not sure how long it is though. It hasn't moved yet as f...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications
Congrats to everyone who's got an interview so far! I just wondered... has any university said how many applicants they've had this year yet? I wonder if it's up/down/the same as last year. Hi Psychological, on the Lancaster site it says they had 366 applicants this year and I think it was about 45...

Re: Trainee PWP - 2014
Congrats on your new roles!
I don't think you need to really do much before the start of the course, but the best book for the PWP work is this one. So I would recommend buying that at some point.
Good luck!

Re: Heterosexual Male Therapists required for client survey
Interesting survey Pink. I just wondered why it was limited to heterosexual men and doesn't include bisexual men or "men who sleep with women". I'm guessing that's what group the client asked for, and without giving away any information about the client it would be interesting to know if h...

Re: where are all of these Hi IAPT posts?
Trainee HI posts are usually advertised on the NHS jobs website once or twice a year as they coincide with university terms. Typically they go out around May so you can in post by the start of October at the latest for when the course starts. However, some courses may start at different times of the...

Re: Adult psychiatric ward
I'd guess that the majority of people on this forum have worked or volunteered in a psychiatric ward at some point in their careers. It's certainly a very good first or second step on the ladder. It gives you direct contact with a range of patients, knowledge of the NHS, working within a MDT (althou...

Re: Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner help?
Hi Nawaal, welcome to the forum! If you haven't already I'd recommend reading the topics in the IAPT Wiki and the IAPT Forum . But to answer your questions: most PWP jobs are advertised via NHS Jobs. Depending on location this could be either once or twice in a year. In London at least, if you get i...
