Re: Support for disabled/dyslexic trainees

Thank you! - that's really helpful :D has anyone used software for drawing out formulations? Note, report and letter writing definitely takes me longer than other assistants or trainees I've worked with and not faffing with MS Word trying to draw shapes round text boxes would be one way to catch up...

Re: Personality/behaviour & major life events - researchers?

I dont know any names of academics off hand, but I read something in a CBT for cancer book a couple of years ago, about how a life changing diagnosis can have a 'shattering' effect on our core beliefs - that the world is safe etc can be completely undermined by the development of something life chan...

I can have a look when I get home, but the DCP published some guidelines on hoarding which may be helpful:

Re: Tax Refunds Wider Discussion

If i get it, I plan on using part of mine to fund EMDR training, alongside some other bits of self-development/training. I have more to contribute to this topic, but i'm feeling quite lethargic about EVERYTHING seeming to lead to an argument/debate at the moment, so will hold my thoughts for another...

Re: Better BME representation in clinical psychology

I suppose what comes to mind, is that you've made an assumption about me and my assumed privilege, but its all relative, and given recent news articles, an incorrect assumption in certain contexts: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/the-filter/11965045/White-working-class-boys-are-the-worst-performing-e...

Re: Better BME representation in clinical psychology

I have been looking at this thread for several hours now, and its interesting that each time I have come to contribute, my stomach has sunk, because these topics very easily raise emotions which can become extremely confrontational. However, its also a topic which over recent months I have found inc...

Re: How long does it take for you to commute to work?

luckily my main base is 10/15 mins away with traffic, but I also have to commute to two other bases, one 30 minutes away, one 45 minutes away, so not bad at all.

Re: What do you want to ask Prof Tanya Byron?

Professor Byron speaks a lot about 'getting our voices out there' as a profession, (which is something which i agree with entirely), I wonder how she thinks this could be best done by those who are early on in the profession or in comparatively 'less powerful' positions? I would also be interested i...
