Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1. Having complained a couple of months ago about referrals not being consistent, I'm now drowning in work from various quarters. 2. Doing a 2 day CPD thing on Solution Focused therapy, first day has gone well, I can see a lot I could put into practice. I'd recommend SDS Seminars for short courses i...

Re: Any success for tax refund while training?

But if they knew what our training salaries were and how much we got back, there'd be an outcry I'm sure. Different with lower paid employees of course, that would make a good story.

Mine was a locum post and I left when a substantive post came up, which I was then in for over 10 years.

And I would still like some means by which I could be accredited to use the title Consultant.

1. I was going to take half term off, but have accidentally accepted heaps of work will have me burning the midnight oil all week just to take a couple of days off with my family  2. Re: Can a conditional job offer be revoked?

I guess the point is until you have the HCPC registration you haven't met the conditions so arguably they could revoke, especially if this is taking too long from their point of view. It's a frustrating situation which could be so easily resolved if their HR would just answer the damn phone!

Re: The Cathartic thread - rant here!

So I'd finally found half a day clear to review a paper I'd been asked to review for a journal. I went to log on, got rejected, reset my account details, faffed around for over an hour with it, eventually got onto the "Review an article" page, looked at the "articles to review" list, it consisted of...

Re: The use of "consultant" as a professional title

I agree with better regulation of these things, but I do feel as job roles are changing and more people are working privately, it would be appropriate for the BPS/HCPC to think about how to accredit experience in people not working within the NHS. I had been stuck on 8a forever and left the NHS with...

Re: Personal Independence Payments

PIP is a benefit that is paid to an individual to spend as they wish. No-one can tell you how to spend it unless you don't have capacity to manage your own money. I currently get DLA and will at some point be reassessed for PIP. It is not the same as a Personal Budget for social care, I'm not sure w...
