Re: Blog: "To fat and back" - a shallow look at obesity

I agree, Katie Hopkins is rather reductionist in her view and this type of concept just perpetuates negative weight stereotypes and stigma more generally. There's a good paper on the psychological effects of weight stigma and how to intergrate this into formulation (Ratcliffe, D., and Ellison, N, 20...

'blob trees' are believed to be a good tool to open up conversations about emotions. I think there's a website and also a book available on amazon if you google it

Re: Assistants groups in South/South West London

The format is different from the standard assistant psychologist groups which provide talks by qualified or trainee Clinical Psychologists about various topics and courses. We felt that there are many great groups like this out there currently in ...

Re: Older Adults and consent

Hi

I've got a great article from the PSIGE newsletter 'a description of pre-diagnostic counselling and disclosure of diagnosis in people assessed for dementia' which covers everything you'll need.

Would this be of help? and if so, shall I PM it over?

Best wishes

Re: I've read the IAPT v AP posts. However...

i'm aware that there's lots of viewpoints on honorary posts. This position could be pretty interesting; working with a clin psych, being in a cmht, having the opportunities to do other things with psychologists do which therapists don't do as much, e.g. audit. Plus working with a different team, you...

Re: Assistants groups in South/South West London

This is all sounding good, I'm glad its coming together.

There's a big Costa near Clapham Junction, perhaps we could aim for there?
Address: 80-82 St. John's Road, Clapham London, SW11 1PX

On Wednesday 13th March at 5.30/6pm? or Saturday 23rd March 4pm? Depending what day most people could do.
