Re: Psychological Assistant - Prison, Leicester

Hi ps0u413c, I was actually just wondering this myself too! I went onto the online system earlier today but all that was there was an e-mail I'd received when I sent off my application and the one when I'd signed up the week before. Thank you for submitting your form. We are currently processing you...

Re: Feedback from NHS AP interviews...or lack of!

That really is unacceptable! I've only had one interview so far for a RA post, but they called me a few days later to let me know I hadn't got the job and they were happy for me to ask for feedback. To be honest I get to infuriated with the NHS recruitment process sometimes. Most other places will a...

Re: Psychological Assistant - Prison, Leicester

That's a good thing to know bw124 - I guess it's good practice! I think I'm managed to think of a situation I can use for that question, it's just a case of writing the answers well now!

Re: Psychological Assistant - Prison, Leicester

Thanks CleverHans - that sounds like a good example to use, I'm just not sure if I've ever been in that situation :( (well, in normal circumstances that would be good ha, but for job applications it's not helpful!) I'll have a think about it over the next day or so and see if I can remember anything...

Re: Psychological Assistant - Prison, Leicester

Thank you very much! I'm not sure if I'm very good at using the search function for this forum, I always seem to miss helpful threads! I've found a couple of threads which have helped a little bit, and I've roughly answered three of the five questions so far - I think they're relatively OK answers, ...

Re: What can I do now?

Thanks again for your replies. Sorry I wasn't clearer in my post - I had actually meant 'plain' Counselling rather than Counselling Psychology. I looked into Counselling Psychology the other week and after getting quite excited about it I then found the tuition fees and almost fainted - definitely r...

Psychological Assistant - Prison, Leicester

Hi everyone, I've never posted one of these before but after looking on the Job Seekers website stumbled across this advert which was a bit of a pain to get the information for so figured I'd post it here. There's not very much information unfortunately, but it's in Glen Parva which is pretty close ...

Re: What can I do now?

Thanks again for all your advice everyone. I've had my induction at the Leicestershire mental health hospital and am just waiting to find out what days I'll be volunteering, so things are good on that front. I'm really enjoying my counselling course, and in some ways I've found myself quite surprise...

Re: What can I do now?

Thanks so much for the replies guys! :) I've been looking at support worker type jobs but they seem to always ask for NVQs in health care etc, but thanks for your comments about this. I haven't actually applied for any of those types of jobs yet because the Personal Specifications have always put me...

What can I do now?

Hi everyone. I'm feeling a little lost at the minute about what to do next in terms of getting on the CP ladder. Sorry this is such a long post... I graduated this July from my undergraduate degree from Durham with a 2:1 (I don't have an official percentage, but I think it is a mid-2:1 due to me mes...

Re: Mental health recovery worker for a charity, any relevan

Thanks so much for the quick reply! I was concerned that I would have to go into great detail about the competencies, but it sounds like they just need to know that you could do that given the situation, which is good news! :)

Re: Mental health recovery worker for a charity, any relevan

Sorry to drag this thread out from the dead, but I was wondering if there were any people who had been successful in applications for roles with Rethink? I've filled out an application form for a Assistant Mental Health Recovery Worker which I thought would be great (my current situation is I gradua...
