Re: Mental disorders among mental health professionals

I agree with Loula and lakeland - there's definitely got to be some research on that topic out there... What databases did you use for your literature search, and did you try various different search terms? Aside from the ethics of it- if you want to recruit NHS staff you will need to go through NHS...

(0.4 * yr1grade) + (0.2 * yr2grade) + (0.4 * yr3grade)

But yeah, StevenMac's post is very helpful. Definitely worth getting in touch with the unis you are considering directly to find out more.

Good luck!

Re: Clinical Doctorate Programs that accept 3rd Year BSc App

If you don't have a year of relevant experience, and a completed degree conferring GBC your chances of getting onto training are negligible whether or not the course specifies that they do or don't accept applications from an undergraduate, so I would only check with courses that use an assessment ...

Re: Holidays

Hi Jen, Not a silly question at all (: Term dates vary from course to course, but generally I don't think you would get the school holidays off as a given. However, you could certainly use your annual leave for them. I know some of the parents in my cohort did that, and I think there's usually not b...

Re: Advice for mature applicant / parent starting out

Thanks for the honest reflections, everyone o: Answeringbell I agree that finding a more family-tolerant course would be ideal, though I am geographically limited to where I will be able to apply (basically Surrey + London). Does anyone have any insight on the most (and least!) parent friendly cours...

Re: Advice for mature applicant / parent starting out

^ While I feel this is helpful advice, I think it doesn't really fit here, and does feel invalidating. Hmm I am sorry; that wasn't my intention :/ Honestly I admire parents, it is the most difficult job on earth. And I'll be the first to admit that I don't think I would be able to cope with the add...

Re: Advice for mature applicant / parent starting out

Ahhh. Ok disclaimer: I'm not a parent. I don't want to offend anyone and it feels a bit weird to be posting in this but I just really want to highlight that training in its own right is difficult, no matter whether you are a parent or not. I know you're looking for advice specific to being a parent,...

Re: Mileage Tax Relief - Temporary Workplace Relief for Trai

I just did mine recently, retrospectively for the previous financial year (April - March). Not sure whether there are other options, but the form didn't mention monthly submissions or anything like that.
