Private work: insurance companies

Post by ejg206 » Thu Sep 08, 2016 9:28 am

Hi there

Looking to set up some private work alongside my NHS work and would like some info about getting referrals from insurance companies.

Does anyone do this?

What is the process?

How do they find you?

Can you find them?

Any benefits or pitfalls?

Gimme what you got folks :D

Hi,

If you are qualified, this is something we've discussed a few times within the qualified forum on here.

A few thoughts:

- What is it you actually want to do? Assessments, therapy, both? In what area?

- It's hard to get into - some companies have certain rules about how long you have to be qualified I think

- Work isn't always consistently provided, so it's not a reliable source of income, but can be a bonus.

- I think there are some agencies out there, but they would take a cut, however it might be a way of getting a foot in the door.

I'm sure others might have more informed thoughts, I don't do any insurance work because generally I am too lazy to hustle and network.
