Hey everyone,

I wanted to have a look at the new review section which was mentioned in today's e-mail (see below), but am not authorised to view the page for some reason.
Secondly, we have rearranged the forum menu slightly and added a new
section for reviews. We have been sent a whole set of interesting books to
pass comment on, and you can volunteer to become a reviewer and potentially
get to read something interesting and then get what you write published.
Reviews will be published on the special forum section if they meet our
standards, and the best reviews will be published in our e-magazine Aspire
(as well as being later added to the reviews section of the forum). So this
is a great way to get something to write in that section of your
application form and to get a chance to read something hot off the presses.

Me neither :( though judging by the lack of post view numbers in the section, I'm guessing that perhaps no one is at the moment?

Yeah, there was a problem with the settings for that section, but we resolved it during the night.

A bug with the Facebook 'like' buttons was identified and resolved earlier. This means that any thread you previously liked will have been re-set, so if you're bothered enough you'll have to like it again.

The pages the buttons linked to were all referencing the test version of this forum before we turned it on nearly 12 months ago! I've added a secondary fix so those old links (that never worked) now actually work.

After a bizarre eureka moment at work yesterday, I managed to identify the problem that was breaking the memberlist, and searching it by the letters of the alphabet.

Now, that is fixed :)

Is livechat working?

Post by freyjab » Mon Mar 26, 2012 6:10 pm

Not sure if this is in the right place, but is it just my livechat not working?!
It comes up with this message -

XML Parsing Error: junk after document element
Location: chat/index.php
Line Number 1, Column 33:<b>[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning</b>: in file <b>[ROOT]/chat/lib/class/AJAXChat.php</b> on line <b>2474</b>: <b>session_start(): open(/var/lib/php/session/sess_vihmr06b224dr3ieavsb7nes91, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13)</b><br />

Merged your Misc post into this thread so that Fuzzy/other technical geniuses can see the two error messages side by side. ell (mod)

Fixed in a little over two and a half hours? What other forum gets this kind of tech support? I suggest we have an anuual FuzzyDunlop day. As the young people say... recognise.

Sounds like a good idea!
It shall be full of cake and cuddles (because Fuzzy likes those things) :D

I'd love that. Especially the cuddles.

I'll just end up sharing the cake. Cake is best shared.

We seem to be having a couple of problems with the server, so if everything crashes down before your eyes on livechat or wherever (at unpredictable times), rest assured we know about it and are trying to figure it out :)

I am told that you can't sign in the forum because the code you are supposed to copy is not appearing. I've checked and this does seem to be a problem. Can you fuzzy-fix-it?
Miriam
