I have just completed the GMA test - and have absolutely no idea how I did but I am glad it is out of the way. Nothing else I can do at this point.

I have also completed them this morning!
They were as I expected them... The numerical one very very challenging and the verbal one many questions and not too much time, but more achievable (from my experience)... Now time to rest, relax and wait for letters and emails!! :alien:

Good luck to everyone completing the GMA tests for Lancaster :D

So, I did the verbal reasoning yesterday and felt ok about it. I then decided to do the practice test for the verbal training. It was so hard!!! I now daren't take the actual test, I was getting ok about it before the practice bit

I did the verbal reasoning one this afternoon and found it OK, I liked that you got a few questions per piece of text, rather than a new piece of text for each question like on the SHL practice tests.

I'm giving myself some more time to practice the numerical one as (like most people, it appears) I'm finding the practice tests much harder. However, practice does seem to be helping me improve. What I've realised is that the calculations themselves aren't particularly complicated, it's more about being able to tell what the question actually wants and what calculation it's asking you to do.

As an aside, does anyone know if on the real assessment website, can I do the practice test but then come back later to do the actual one?

Good luck to everyone who has done or will be doing these!

Yes, you can do the practice then come back to it later. I did :)

If you're trying to access the tests today, SHL appear to be having technical problems. They are aware of the issue and working on it so it should be resolved shortly.

Hello everyone,

I only managed to do half of the numerical test in time  I obviously didn't realise my (lack of) ability in maths! Hope it doesn't mean I'm automatically out with a chance of getting through.

Does anyone know if we receive confirmation that we have done the tests?

Thanks :)

I've just done the numerical reasoning - the difficulty ramped up really quickly.

I had 2 questions, one in the practice and one in the actual assessment where I was absolutely certain I had the right answer, working it out several times, but that answer wasn't an option. I know that it's probably me missing key information, but its really frustrating when you're sure you're looking at the right answer and it's not there! One of them was a pretty easy question as well...

I just felt dumb for applying after doing these tests - I get that they're supposed to be hard, but I've really struggled with the numerical reasoning. If I have the time I can sit and figure out what they want to know and do the maths to do it, but not in the time supplied and then I get nervous and make silly mistakes. I think on one of them I did an entire set of sums that weren't actually necessary  If it weren't timed I feel everyone would feel a bit less anxious about these - but I get that for various reasons they do need to be timed. Sorry rant over. Good luck anyone about to take them

You don't get confirmation you've done the tests. We'll obviously email you to let you know the outcome in due course - and you know you've done them or not.

I have done the verbal reasoning test (phew). Not too optimistic though as I rushed it after running out of time last year. Does anyone else find that when they understand the language used, or are at least familiar with the terms used they can find the answer quicker and understand the text? Just a reflection I noticed. Good luck everyone!

Numerical reasoning test is still looming :pale:

Ive just opened up the practise tests! You guys have put me off the numerical for now... The verbal was not so challenging but certainly got me thinking  ! I scored on the 75%, my impressions on the board suggests I need 99%+to get an interview haha

I seem to be getting a log in page when I open up the browser from the email link. Is that right or is the tests suppose to come straight up?
