Any other Trent 2017 trainees out there?

Me! :) I'm based in Nottingham. Which base are you at? Congratulations for making it through the assessment day, I found it so gruelling!

Manchester
Edinburgh
Oxford
IOPPN - IOPPN

Absolutely delighted to be joining training at the IOPPN as it's always been my first choice! I found the interview process gruelling and really thought I'd blown it so I was completely shocked to be offered a place.

I met so many lovely and accomplished people on the day (I interviewed on Tuesday) and I'm so excited to be training with some of you.

2017 for me..

Manchester
Birmingham
Plymouth
Staffordshire

Trying not to feel too disappointed but failing miserably!

I still haven't received feedback from Plymouth but my feedback from Staffordshire was very positive with the exception of 'needed to demonstrate an understanding of Practices of Power'. Does anyone know what that means? I've asked both my current and previous clinical supervisor and they don't know. I can't seem to find anything online.

When you get positive feedback, its even more frustrating because you can't help but wonder why they didn't pick you or what you can do to improve for next year

Does anyone else feel like their life feels on hold until they get on? I don't feel I've made any progress with my life over the last 3 years. All my friends are doing well in their careers, earning good money, buying houses, getting married etc. And all I keep thinking is.. how many years am I going to do this for? And what if I never get on?

Sorry for the miserable post! Huge congratulations to everyone who got accepted this year. I can only hope that 2018 will be my year.. or 2019... or 2020 or... 2021

Forum guidelines state that I can't write what immediately went through my head on reading this. But the second word was YEAH!

Congratulations on the offer! Whereabouts were you on the reserve list? I'm also on the list so wondering where they have got to. Were you high, medium or low?

Sorry I think I've also just emailed you, still working out how to use this forum..

Hi!

I was high.
I read in previous threads that on average they take about 15 applicants from the reserve each year.

Good luck!
