well there it is I suppose. Its funny because you go into this process KNOWING how hard it is and yet when you get the rejections it still stings. congratulations to all those who did get an interview though; GO YOU!

Stressful day with getting 2 rejections and 1 interview, but the wait is finally over! Somewhat better result than 3 years ago when I last applied (only had 1 interview with Lancaster).

First time applying, so glad the waiting is over!
Birmingham
Cardiff
Lancaster
Plymouth
I hadn't really expected anything for my first try but I was maddeningly close with Lancaster and now on the reserve list for Plymouth.
Good luck to those with interviews and for the rest of us I guess there is always next year!

Congratulations everyone regardless being invited to attend the interview, on reserve list, or being unsuccessful. Applying for the DClin Psych course is extremely valuable experience itself.
I have applied for:
Edinburgh
Glasgow
Newcastle
UEA
Hopefully see you at the interview with those who have applied to the same Universities as me.
Good luck,

OK I'm really getting stressed.
I haven't heard from teesside. I know people who have had invites and rejections but no one else I know is still waiting.
Is anyone else still in the dark about teesside???
I've checked my emails and my junk folder and there's nothing. Clearing house hasn't updated so still says application with course centre.
I don't know what to do. I think I've been missed off!!

Bath

While I'm obviously very pleased to get 2 interviews, Bath was my first choice and I'm gutted not to get an interview there, when I came so close to getting a place last year. I also declared a disability this year, and the Clearing House says they offer interviews to applicants with disabilities who meet the minimum criteria (which I do) and the academic cut off score (which with straight A's, a 1st and a Masters, I would have thought I would).
It certainly does feel like you either need assistant psych experience or a PhD to even be considered by some universities these days. Both of which involve spending your 20s in very low paid work, and massively favour people who are able to move around to get the positions. Despite the good news, I must admit this process has left me feeling quite cynical about access to the profession.

Glad to not be waiting any more. First interview on Monday - no rest for the wicked! Good luck folks and remember to look after yourselves during the stress of the process.

Thanks Arya! All the best for your journey aheadAryaStark wrote:Sending lots of hugs to you penguin and all the luck for next year!penguin wrote:In my fourth year of applying and my season ends as

Coventry & Warwick (not heard anything and assume it's a red)
In previous years I have had all reds and one reserve for interview. After some initial disappointment and upset, I'm now looking at this next year as a challenge to push myself and develop my skills further which can only be a positive asset for any future training whether it's Dclinpsy or another training path. I have some truly amazing psychologists in my service who are so supportive and encouraging, I am excited to see what this next year offers. I'm not ready to give up on my dream just yet! This process is so competitive and intense, I hope our similar experiences unite us. Big hugs to those who have received reds (be kind to yourself), congratulations to the greens and oranges for your achievement so far and good luck!
