2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread
Re: 2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread
Yeah I thought it may be a long wait due to the complexity but I was wondering if they had said it may be this week - thanks for letting me knowBokbag87 wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 11:40 amAll Edinburgh said was that they were hoping it would be this week. I very much doubt it would be today as it is quite a complex placing procedure with all the boards and streams and they were interviewing till Friday. Last year they told people on the Thursday the week following interview week so I would guess it would be be around then. The wait is pretty awful though![]()

Re: 2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread
Edinburgh is pretty much always the last one at 5pm on deadline day, and they may have even gone past that one year.
Re: 2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread
Edinburgh were interviewing til Thursday last week, deciding Friday/Monday. The staff on the day said hopefully we hear this week!
Re: 2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread
I know Bath have already contacted successful and reserve applicants but I just wondered if anyone has received a rejection email yet?
I haven't had any contact from them since my interview and clearing house is saying "application withdrawn" which I thought was strange....

Just have to move the family 300 miles or so South West now, but I have read a few inspirational stories on this forum which have left me determined to make this work. I am very lucky to have such a supportive family.
This is my third year applying and have been told by many a person throughout my journey that this day would never come. For those who have been unsuccessful this year or are thinking of giving up, keep trying! It is possible.

Hey Edgemo, huge congratulations on getting a place at Exeter and accepting!!!
I have also accepted my place there and will be moving about 250 miles also. Excited for September and looking forward to a new beautiful chapter of life.
Hope to connect with yourself and others so I've created a post for the Exeter 2019 cohort here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=21577

Bangor > Bangor
Teesside > Teesside
Southampton
Liverpool > Liverpool
It's finally happening! I'm still in shock.
It would be great to hear from those also going to Liverpool. I'm relocating from the south of England!

Does anyone know if they are going to turn down an offer at Manchester? I am on reserve list (don’t know where)

Re: 2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread
I have turned down manchester. All the best
Re: 2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread
Hey, found out yesterday that I was unsuccessful following the Edinburgh interviews, just wondering if anyone knows if there is a reserve list? Well done to those who were successful

Re: 2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread
Heya. I'm on the reserve list. Not sure what number as they don't say. Not too hopeful but happy to get this far.
Re: 2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread
Super happy with this outcome as this is my first year applying:
Birmingham
Leeds
Lancaster-->Lancaster(2nd on the list)
Sheffield
Honestly could not be happier

It would be so nice if something made sense for a change

Been a long old journey since my first post on these forums in 2013 - asking for advice on whether I would have a shot at DClinPsy if I went off and got a post-graduate conversion course in Psychology.

I made a point of posting here previously when I didn't get interviews as I feel it can be easy for people to lose sight of how competitive and challenging this process is amongst all the greens and blues. I post now because I cannot believe I am in this position, and want to make it clear to anyone worrying this year if they have the "right" experience/qualification, who don't feel they "fit" the applicant mould, and worry it will never happen for them. That was me for the past 6 years. Persevere as long as it is right for you and you feel you still want to. It is possible. You may very well surprise yourself.
Good luck to everyone starting this year, to anyone still waiting to hear (especially those on the Glasgow reserve list!), and especially to anyone already setting their sights on 2020 entry.
Many thanks also to everyone on this forum for all the advice and support over the years.
