1st year applying for me! I'm 36 and have had career changes along the way, so this is the first time I've felt truly ready for this process.

My heart is in the Highlands, so...

Edinburgh (test and questions completed)
Glasgow

Fingers crossed and good luck!
Finally received my first response from Glasgow and it's a no. I feel like it's been an awful long time to wait for rejection but I'm not going to dwell on it. Edinburgh was always my first choice so we'll see what happens. Good luck to those still waiting for news!

Hello! Third time applicant here. Currently waiting to hear back from my final application (to Glasgow), but as it stands:

GLASGOW
KCL
LANCASTER
LEICESTER (but completed screening test)

So happy to have got an interview, just hoping that I can put all the experience and feedback I've had since my last outing to good use!

Good luck everyone - you're all amazing :)
Update -

GLASGOW
KCL
LANCASTER
LEICESTER (but completed screening test)

To be fair, it's the first year I've attempted an application at Glasgow and KCL so rejections were not unexpected. Still, I'm so happy I've got an interview to prepare for! :D

Hi all, long time lurker first time poster... I've really appreciated this little community during what is a pretty intense and stressful process so thought I would contribute for once!

First time applicant after much debate about whether I felt ready to apply this year after only 9 months honorary AP and 6 months paid AP experience at the point of applying. Decided to use this year as a trial run.

Exeter
UEA
Kings IOPPN
Oxford

Although very pleasantly surprised I am definitely suffering from impostor syndrome!! Incredibly nervous for interviews. I didn't even make the selection tests for Exeter, perhaps because honorary experience does not count towards the one year minimum clinical requirement? Although I know others in the same position who were invited to testing. Basically it has added to my wonderings that there feels to be a slight element of fortune involved in all this!

Good luck to everyone with interviews, and those still waiting to hear back. Take care of yourselves everyone <3

Couldn't be bothered doing the whole reply thing because I'm tired and kinda bummed.

So far: Cardiff, Exeter, Bath. Haven't heard from Plymouth but guessing its a no based on test scores. Worst year out of the three I've applied, despite me having a lot more confidence and experience.

Prob won't update when I get the Plymouth rejection, soz.

This is my 5th year applying and to be quite honest I thought last year was my last - I have never actually posted my progress on here before, but thought that by doing so I might help to give a wider perspective for those who like me 'lurk' on here and feel frustrated with what does feel like an unfair process at times.

1st Year
University of Birmingham
Leicester
Oxford
Kings College London

2nd Year
Birmingham
Cov/Warwick
Hertfordshire
Oxford

3rd Year
Birmingham
UEL
Hertfordshire
Trent

4th Year
Birmingham
Oxford

Hertfordshire
Cov/Warwick

5th Year (this time around)
University of Birmingham - still waiting
Hertfordshire
Coventry/Warwick
Staffordshire

This year I am trying my best to be accepting of whatever happens rather than viewing any rejections as 'I am a failure' which often crops up for many at this time of year!

Good Luck every-one! :D
So far I am tremendously pleased with the outcome this year! :)

Hey guys. This is my 4th time applying, although first 2 times were pointless as had almost no experience. Now I have 3 years experience as an AP and prior to that a couple years of Support Work in secure and substance misuse. I have a 2:1 dual honours degree in English & Psychology (low 2:1 so made sure I applied to places that didn't ask for a "good" or "upper" 2:1) and an MSc in Health Psych (Merit/ 64). Never had any interviews before.

Salomons (sat test)
Coventry & Warwick
Hertfordshire

Newcastle

Might give up, might give it one more go. Not sure what plan B could be? It's a really soul destroying process tbh, not sure where I'm going wrong.

Well done to everyone who has made it to interview or even reserve for interview!

Salomons said no - onwards and upwards
UCL said yes! - interview April 28th
hertfordshire is a yes :) interview May 12th
UEL said yes - interview 23rd April.

Last year I got no interviews at all, this year I have 3 out of 4. My application was much the same as previously, other than an extra year of work, I have no idea what the significant difference is this year.....this process baffles me, its very stressful! Hang in there all of you applying, good luck all of you still waiting on replies - may the force be with you!

Hello All,

This is my second time applying.

I have a BSc Hons in Psychological Studies (2:1), an MSc in Psychology (Merit), 14 months experience working as a Complex Needs Support Worker and 12 months as an Assistant Psychologist (6 months CMHT & 6 months ABI - still ongoing). I was fortunate enough to have my MSc research project published recently, which was very exciting, albeit a rather arduous process but worth it in the end.

Prior to this I had a reasonably successful career for 15 years in digital advertising.

I have applied to:

Bath
Birmingham
Coventry & Warwick
IoPPN

I wish you all every success and hope to see some of you in September.

God Bless. It is in His hands now.

C.

It's a NO from Bath.
Just Birmingham to go.
Hopefully some good news waiting for me this evening when I get home.
If not, I shall see you on this thread next year.
