2019 - 2 interviews, but no luck
UCL
IOPPN

Royal Holloway
University of Hertfordshire

2020 - 4 interviews, accepted UCL!
UCL --> UCL!!!!!! eeeek
IOPPN
Royal holloway
Surrey

Eeeeeek so happy and over the moon - feels so surreal AND makes all the rejections last year worth it. I used the feedback I got last year and worked on it all year to get to this place. Don't give up, but most importantly, always be kind to yourself.
Congratulations!! Would you mind sharing what kind of experience you've worked on in this year? :)

First time applicant

Coventry&Warwick
Hertfordshire --> Herts
Salomons (34th reserve)
Staffordshire (sat screening)
Absolutely thrilled, and gobsmacked! I am just so happy that this process is over. I completely underestimated how draining this would be. Nothing but admiration for everyone else.

This was my first year applying as I wanted to wait until I felt really ready...

In complete and utter shock!

Any Plymouth offers/reserves out there considering a firm decision either way now most uni results are out?.... I'm convinced lockdown is making the wait more painful! 😰

So, this is my third proper try at this! Along the way I've trained as a PWP and more recently a CBT Therapist, with specialist LTC training, and I am very pleased to add my bit to the thread finally!

For my first 'proper' attempt in 2017 I secured an Interview at UEA - no offer after interview

in 2019 I got two interviews for Herts and UEA. I got reserve for both, but neither reserve list moved. No idea where I was on the reserves.

And this year (I think I've got the colours right)
Herts --> Herts
Leeds --> Leeds!!
Kings - no interview
Salomons - invited for test, no interview

If I didn't get on this year, it would have been the end of my journey towards clinical and I would have continued on as a CBT therapist and would have applied for a NIHR funded PhD.
However, I am beyond excited and thrilled to start this year at Leeds!

Hi all, just wondering if anyone is planning on rejecting their offer or place on the reserve list at UEL? I am definitely noticing my anxiety increase as waiting continues.

Hi! Well done, first of all!

Great news for you and reassuring that a short span of time can lead to good progression indeed. I wanted to ask about the trainee CBT role. How did you get onto this? I’m very interested but although I have a teaching background (not SEN) I don’t meet the core profession criteria list to apply for high intensity training Programmes. Would you mind sharing in case I’m missing an alternative route? I have a non-psych BSc, PGCE Secondary Education, Grad Cert (psychology) MSc Child Development (BPS accredited-conversion).
Thanks and well done again!

Fourth time applicant...

If you’ve had a rough time this year, hopefully my experience will help you to make a bit more sense of a process that often doesn’t make much sense!

2018

Trent

2019

Second time applying, last year 0 interviews.

This year:

UCL
UEL
Royal Holloway
IoPPN

Absolutely over the moon! It only takes one :)
Good luck to everyone else still waiting to hear back (I can't believe how much slower the process has been this year) and to everyone on the reserve list!
