Good luck to all!

Did many people actually get an interview at UEL (not that I was expecting to but have had a quick look through threads and am mainly seeing UEL)? I wonder whether they have had loads more applications due to the olympics???

Hi Miriam
I did fill in the equal ops form showing I have a disability but maybe the min. criteria are job related too (?) and I must not have met them - i didn't realize that as a disabled person I have to be interviewed under those criteria! Do you think it's worth checking with the unis that they didn't forget this - ucl state on their website that they expect people to have only worked in a caring capacity for a year by the time they start the course which I would have.
It really worries me that i might be sidelined because i am disabled - too much trouble and all that - so they find a reason to reject me.
But thanks so much for mentioning this.

Sorry to hear your news psych_lad - I got 4 outright rejections last year too.

I've heard from all of mine now:

UCL :)
Salomons :D
UEL
Herts

I'm very shocked  I'm feeling a lot of pressure now too - I wish people would believe it when I tell them that it's very unlikely that I'll manage to turn one of these into an offer!

Re: Herts - we've been asked "please describe yourself in no more than 250 words" - and email that in prior to the interviews. Does anyone have any idea at what they're looking for - as I'm assuming they're expecting something different from section 9c of our applications?

So so much better than last years' outright rejections, am actually feeling slightly positive about this process now (only ever so slightly however, am acutely aware that the worst is yet to come!).

Feeling sad :( It was my first time to apply. I got a 2:2 10 years ago. Currently doing the Clinical Applications of Psychology at Newman Univeristy and working at a mental health nurse.....

First year applying so i'm quite happy with that. Less optimistic about turning one into a place though.

Commiserations psychlad. I'm sorry to hear that. How frustrating to have to wait another year :(

The other rejections seem a bit more understandable, if people have a 2:2 and no postgrad qualification, or haven't got GBR yet, but you always seem to have relevant experience and thinking...

Ah thanks for the commiserations guys!

I hope that my red colours also reassure other people that many applicants don't actually get interviews (I don't think the high rejection rate for being shortlisted for interviews is represented in this thread).

It was a huge disappointment but I was kind of expecting it due to one of my references.

Good luck to those who are still hearing back and all those who have got interviews!

It's roll on septemeber for me!
