I'll be starting at Sheffield in September. I'll be moving to the area from Cheshire. Any hints on places to live/avoid would be much appreciated!
Have you guys had your DBS back yet?

I don't know Sheffield at all.....I will be commuting from near Leeds. Hopefully someone can give you some tips!

Yeah I've not recieved anything either. I expect they'll have waited until they have a batch before they sent them off. Can't wait to get more info though! Looking forward to meeting you all and starting the course!
It might be worth setting up a facebook group. I will be spending my weekends in Sheffield towards the end of the summer looking for places to live so I'd be up for arranging a social before the course starts?

Hello, I'll be joining you at Sheffield

I haven't received anything either, I did ask back in March and I think they said they send a starter pack at the end of June (though they could have said July... I was still in shock at the time ).

Fortunately for me, I already live in Sheffield. However, I've only been in Sheffield for a few months and so I don't have any wise tips to give in relation to housing.

I have a rather busy summer ahead, but might be able to find some time towards the end of August if people did want a social

I'll be starting at Sheffield too. How exciting. Looking forward to meeting everybody. I live in Sheffield so happy to tell people areas that are nice and to avoid (in my opinion!). If anyone wants to PM me, I can suggest some areas..don't want to offend anyone by publicly saying to avoid places and then someone lives there!!

Hey everyone!

I'll be joining you all at Sheffield too - very excited! I currently work in Sheffield but live in Leeds and planning to move to Sheffield before the course starts. I know Sheffield relatively well but not don't know much about where is best to live. I'm looking in Crookes at the moment which I have been told is quite a studenty area and is close to uni which will be handy.

Looking forwards to meeting you all! A facebook page sounds like a great idea.
