Bangor 2018

Post by Roisin1991 » Mon May 14, 2018 10:29 am

Hey, I'm Roisin :)

I just wanted to start a thread for people who will be starting at Bangor in 2018. I know it's a small course compared to some, but hopefully people will see this! I'll be moving to North Wales for the course and don't know anyone, so I thought it would be nice to get to know some people.

Hi Nia,
Congratulations on being offered a place! Have you thought about where abouts you're going to move to yet? I haven't really got a clue!

Also, I noticed that your photo on here is of cats, I believe we will get along just fine :D

Thanks, feels like a long time coming! Congratulations to you too!

Nope, no idea where to live. Have been having a general look at areas but it's difficult because I don't know North Wales! Probably going to start properly looking in August and make the move in September sometime! Where are you from?

I love cats :) cat people are the best! x

Thank you :)

I'm from near Manchester originally but I'm currently living and working in Nottinghamshire. It's difficult to know where to choose as a base as we could end up on placement anywhere in North Wales. I'm hoping to move in September also but we'll be able to plan better when we're given a start date I guess.

Yes, cat people are the best people indeed! x

Hi Jess, Congratulations! That's cool, so you don't have to move.

Won't be long before everyone's confirmed and I guess they will share our emails around so we can contact each other.

Thank you :) It still doesn't feel real yet..

Yes I'm hoping to make it work commuting wise if I'm lucky with placements etc but will just have to re-think my location if it doesn't work out!

Yeah I haven't heard much from them yet apart from the initial offer letter. I'm assuming they will make more contact once the clearing house deadline has closed.

Would be good to maybe start up a Facebook group so that hopefully we can all keep in touch before the start date! :)

Hi Jess :)

I remember that one of the current trainees at the meal the night before my interview lived in Chester and commuted so I think you'll be OK.

I haven't heard anything either - I'm presuming everything will start happening after next Friday.

It feels so far away but I bet it will come around quickly!

Hi Guys,

I have just received Fiona's email with everyone else's email address. I was thinking of setting up a facebook group and trying to add everyone in. Are you guys happy for me to invite you to this via email?

Jess :)

Hi all :)

Sounds good to me! Hoping to check out some towns in North Wales over the next few week. Might be nice to meet before we all start, if anyone lives nearby! The time is going to fly though!!
