Stuck with doctorate course choices!? RHUL/IoPPN/Herts/Essex

Post by Smallblonde02 » Fri Nov 15, 2019 7:04 pm

Hi all,

I wondered if any current or past trainees may be able to help. I am currently stuck on what courses to apply to, I have picked two which I am happy with and need to pick two more. Now I cannot decide between RHUL, IoPPN, Herts and Essex. I have read through the alternative handbooks for the last few years multiple times but still feel none the wiser!

Are there any trainees from any of these courses or people who know more about them that would be able to give a bit more of an insight into any of them?

Any advice would be welcomed :)

Advice on courses' orientations:
If you're more CBT oriented, you might consider choosing RHUL and IOPPN
If you're more social constructivism oriented, consider choosing Essex.
I don't have information on Herts course.

However, consider your application and previous academic ahchievements while choosing IoP as it is very competitive.

Good luck.
