Post by Equinesaretherapy » Fri Jul 20, 2018 10:27 am

Hello,

Is there anybody else out there planning to apply for this course? I’ve got a few things in the pipeline but am definitely going to apply for this course (even though I don’t much fancy my chances)!😊

Hi there,

I'm going to apply. Not sure if it's still as competitive as it used to be, but it's the only one I'm really interested in.
Have you applied previously? I have not.
One question that I'm still not sure of, do we get paid to train? I know the fees are waved.

Hey,
I don’t know how competitive it is, but I’m guessing fairly! As far as I’m aware you get paid while you train, because you are employed full time by the NHS. If not, I wouldn’t be able to afford to do it.
I’ve started my application form, but am still not 100% sure whether I’ll be submitting it. I’ve got a couple of offers for MSc courses that are local to me, and am also awaiting the potentially very significant outcome of an interview for my total dream job😬 If I get that, all other options are off the table instantly😂

Well good luck on the dream job!
I've started the application process now. Are you still making progress?

Hiya,
I'm applying for this course as well.
Reading through forums from past years, interest in the course appears to have dwindled over time. Or maybe that's just this forum.
Interestingly, there seems to be more spots available this year.
I'm putting together my application but I don't know how well I'd fare with that.
Goodluck to everyone!

Hi, I'm also applying for this course!

Does anyone have insight on what the last question - about the most relevant psychological theories to the delivery of CBT interventions - is looking for? I saw there was some confusion about it on an older post, but was wondering what people were thinking about it?

:)

I'm not sure how to interpret that question either. :(

I have heard that a lot of people who are now working as CAAPS are really unhappy in the role. Many seem to think that it's a lot of work and the pay off isn't as great as they thought.
It does seem to be a lot less popular than it was. hmm

Oh fudgers!
I wouldn't be able to fit it into the word limit.

Hello :)
Has anyone else received an email from ucas saying that there have been changes made to the course? It says to sign in and review the changes, but I can't see any 🧐

I got that email too. I didn't want to email them to ask why as I bet they're getting loads of people asking and I bet it's something trivial that's not worth worrying about! If anyone asks and gets a response let us know! :)

How did you find the application forms etc?

I think it's just that the application date is now closed. Came in Monday morning so I assume that was someone updating.

Fab, thanks! Yeah I think it is just to do with the Dundee email being set up for us etc. as it says that all correspondence will be done through their portal now, and there's no actionable items there so should be all good :)
