GSH guides and forms
GSH guides and forms
Hi everyone,
I have recently started as a PWP, and am trying to find good sources for guided self help materials. I would particualrly like to develop some forms like the ones in Reach Out to send to clients (i.e.behaviour activation diary).
If anyone has found some good resources that can be found on the internet, please let me know!
Thank you

Re: GSH guides and forms
hello
the ones we tend to use in our service are;
Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS self help booklets
http://www.ntw.nhs.uk/pic/selfhelp
Centre for Clinical Interventions
http://www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/resources/mhp.cfm
and Get Self Help
http://www.getselfhelp.co.uk/
but i would check which materials are recommended by your service, and run anything by your colleagues first as services may be picky on what goes to patients.
best wishes
J.

Thank you for the links - very helpful. I have discussed this with my colleagues and we're just assessing the range of materials out there at the moment before developing some things to send out.

No worries. Just reading back to my post I hope I didn't come across as a damp squib. In the contrary, i think its fun to be creative with materials, coming up with visual aids and metaphors for explaining interventions etc, and think it should be encouraged. We tend to bring ideas to meetings to share with the rest of the colleagues to get feedback, and its sounds like you're doing or planning to do something similar.
best of luck

I use the odd bit of CCI stuff, but mainly the Northumberland guides. I think some people send out too much stuff. the Northumberland guides are easy to read and not too long. I have used them with a lot of success with patients, particularly the panic one, OCD one and sleep problems for sleep hygiene.

Hi,
Good Resources that I use include:-
http://www.moodjuice.scot.nhs.uk/
They have self-help guides for most areas and back into the Interventations we are taught as PWPs quite well
http://www.edspace.org.uk/default.asp?page=112
Has both booklets at varying levels and links to other sites.
and finally
http://glasgowsteps.com/home.php
Lots of good info the PANIC booklet on this site is very good.
Strange in that they all Scottish and I work in the South east.
Hope this is of some help.
