Exeter 2019
Hey everyone,
Just thought I'd start a post for those who have accepted a place at Exeter 2019 for us to connect and for this whole experience to begin to feel real.
I accepted my place at Exeter in April and am feeling super excited for this new chapter to begin!
Would be great to hear from others in my cohort too....

Re: Exeter 2019
Hello there!
I accepted my place the same day I got my offer because it was my first choice! I'm glad someone has made a thread. Congrats! What is your placement base and when did you have your interview?

Re: Exeter 2019
Hello
I also accepted in April! It still doesn't feel real the lack of communication is starting to make me worry it was a dream so it's nice to hear from others who have accepted! My placement base is Exeter and I interviewed on the Monday. Are you both local or relocating?
Re: Exeter 2019
Hi, Dusty! I wonder if we saw each other on the day. I was the black guy with the white shirt. We may have been in the same group task?Dusty wrote: βWed May 22, 2019 6:27 pmHelloI also accepted in April! Yes, it is real. Congrats! I am in the Bedfordshire area so I will be relocating! You? Cannot wait to start the course and meet everyone.
Re: Exeter 2019
Hi! I don't think we were in the same group task (there were no guys in mine) but I'm wondering if we spoke briefly with 2 of the trainees after your interview and before mine? I'm Vicky I would have been the short girl with dark hair looking very nervous!Mudisco wrote: βWed May 22, 2019 7:19 pmHi, Dusty! I wonder if we saw each other on the day. Re: Exeter 2019
Hey people! Yayy thanks for replying to my post - feels great to hear from others on the course! It's starting to feel real...
I will be relocating from East London, so quite a drastic move for me, which is what I wanted and one of the reasons why I chose Exeter.
I interviewed on the Wednesday and I think it was all girls in my group. I am an Indian girl, so it's nice to hear we've got some ethnic diversity in this cohort.
Congrats to both of you!! And thank you for congratulating me too!! Yes we're supposed to be enjoying this time, but it's hard until I receive something official paperwork wise....

PS: I also accepted in April about a week after the offer. I wasn't going to mess about with something I've waited for, for years right! lol
Dusty, that's awesome that you live in Dawlish ... you can show us the ropes of the area
Also I forgot to mention my placement base is Exeter and East Devon.

Re: Exeter 2019
Haha exactly!! I only moved here in November so I still feel like im getting used to the area but I can try my best! That's nice to hear from someone with the same placement base too its all starting to feel a bit more real although I still want something a bit more official for it to sink inssdreamer wrote: βThu May 23, 2019 12:59 pmPS: I also accepted in April about a week after the offer. Re: Exeter 2019
What an awesome thread!
Hello everyone! I'm Dan, I accepted just the other week, now planning to move down from Norwich. My placement base is Exeter, and I can't remember meeting any of you on my interview day. Will be nice to meet you in a few months.
Also very pleased that even though there are only 4 of us on here at the mo it's already quite a diverse group. I think that was one of Exeter's strengths in its recruitment process, focusing on the individual!
Can't wait for September. It's real, and it's happening!

Oh wow!! Like Edgemo said, it is already a diverse course. Congratulations! I also wanted a drastic move and I am from South East London. A black girl also got on to the course and she is from London originally as wellssdreamer wrote: βThu May 23, 2019 12:54 pmHey people! I feel the same Dusty, I am still waiting for something a bit more official for it to sink in!
Haha. I know that I am probably biased for saying this because I got on but I really liked how the interview day went. September cannot come soon enough!Edgemo wrote: βThu May 23, 2019 9:23 pmWhat an awesome thread!

have you thought about when to move and hand notices in and things yet?
Hey Dusty, oh you only moved there recently, sorry I didn't realise that. How are you finding it there and where did you move from?
Yay we have the same placement base! So does Dan I think. About ending my current job, I am waiting for some paperwork from Exeter Uni or the NHS trust there so then I can give in my notice. How about you and others?
Does anyone actually plan on buying a place there out of interest or is everyone renting?

Me too - really loved the interview day and the people there (staff and trainees). All positive signs...
