Manchester Screening Assessment
Manchester Screening Assessment
I've just noticed on the clearing house website that Manchester has decided to add a pre screening assessment detailed below.
"From 2020, applicants who meet all the entry requirements will be invited to sit a GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) test, which must be completed in order for them to be considered."
Does anyone know anything about this?

Re: Manchester Screening Assessment
They are the same assessments that Lancaster/Plymouth/Cardiff/Exeter use.
Re: Manchester Screening Assessment
I got the impression that the Manchester test is different.
Manchester:
GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) which takes around 3 hours. Includes analytical writing assessment, Integrated reasoning, Quantitative, Verbal.
https://www.mba.com/exams/gmat
Lancaster / Staffordshire etc:
GMA (General Mental Ability).Takes less than 1 hour. Includes verbal and numerical reasoning.

I have emailed the Manchester course to clarify this.

Re: Manchester Screening Assessment
I think you'll find that's an accidental misuse of the acronym GMAT and they mean GMA.
Re: Manchester Screening Assessment
Can anyone clarify as to whether or not Lancaster and Manchester have the GMA or the GMAT?
Thanks

Re: Manchester Screening Assessment
I thought I just did! Manchester mean GMA as per the tests used at Lancaster. In previous years this has been verbal and numerical subtests.
Re: Manchester Screening Assessment
I've just received a reply to email asking for more info which confirms that Manchester will be using the GMA not the GMAT.
"Please be aware that there is a currently an error on our course information page, the screening test to be used is the GMA (general mental ability) test, and not the GMAT test.
The screening test will be available between 10th – 24th February 2020.
Applicants will not be required to pay for the test.
The tests will assess verbal and numerical reasoning."

Re: Manchester Screening Assessment
I love the way you got told this by a member of course staff on the second post, but the thread continued to doubt the answer until posting a reply from a member of course staff.
Re: Manchester Screening Assessment
Maybe people were not aware that the second poster is a member of course staff...

You make it sound like that's all I say

Re: Manchester Screening Assessment
Nah, you give lots of good advice. But you do reply to anything about Lancaster course and have insight into other courses in the region.
