Would be interesting to know how many applicants applied this year....whether it was less/more due to COVID-19.

I was thinking this too, do you suspect more applied or less? I feel like more people would have had spare time to apply so probably have a lot of applicants. I applied for another job which had emailed me saying they are taking longer than expected to shortlist....it's tough out there this year

Yes, that's a good point about people having more time, so maybe more people have applied this year. However, I also suspect a lot of people's lives have been negatively affected by everything that has been going on globally. So maybe fewer people have applied this year...

I'm surrendering my application to the universe haha. If these last few months have taught me anything, is that we never truly know what is around the corner.

Just to let you all know, my application status on UCL's portico now says "Currently being processed by Admissions"- Hopefully, it's good news! Good luck everyone.

I don't know how helpful this information is. Not everyone's pages will be updating at the same time, I know mine certainly hasn't, and I think its best to avoid assuming things until we know for sure. We should be cautious not everyone will be getting the news they hope for and this speculation is going to further increase anxiety in a lot of folk.

It's worth noting from looking at previous years chat on this forum, my app status change may not be a good thing... If that's the case I will reapply during the next intake

Yes, exactly. It's just speculation I haven't gone through this experience before so I'm not sure. Was just reading what previous years have shared, and sounds like every year is different.
